Embedded Software Engineer

Armorit is seeking a Lead Software Engineer responsible to lead an Integrated Product and Process Team to support ongoing and new business in embedded controller applications developments.

The candidate must have a comprehensive knowledge of SAE J1939, Flexray, MOST, general diagnostic and other distriubuted systems. Systems engineering and test experience in the following areas is highly desired: CMMI implementation, system performance/prediction analysis, system mission planning, data record and playback, automated trainer systems, system asset management, system IPL and system fault detection. Familiarity with MATLAB is desirable. Experience testing distributed transportation controllers and components and associated data analysis is also desirable.

Successful candidates must be highly motivated with a broad based Software Engineering skill set that allows for program to program flexibility across our military and consumer product developments. The tasks range from being an individual contributor/technical lead to a software project manager/engineer (SPM/SPE). Skills required include, but are not limited to, a demonstrated ability to work cross-functional tasks, a demonstrated ability to rise to accept program challenges and address unplanned issues as they occur, proposal development, software subcontract lead & project resource responsibility.

Experience in real-time embedded systems and modern software development techniques are required. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills are required. Experience with (Languages: C, C++, Java, CORBA, Web Services; Operating Systems: Linux, Windows; Development Methodologies: OOA/OOD, SA/SD; Parametric Modeling Tools: SEER-SEM, COCOMO, PRICE-S) is desired. ASW, C4I, Systems Engineering, and I&T experience is highly desired. Requires travel (US and/or International) for reviews, customer meetings, and to different work sites as needed.

A BS/MS degree in Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering is highly desirable.

Ability to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance is required.

Standard Job Description

Designs, develops, operates, and maintains software and firmware components and computing systems software to be applied to and integrated with engineering, scientific, and manufacturing requirements. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of such engineering applications and products such as laboratory simulation systems, airplane flight control and display systems, avionics, mechanical and electrical systems, weapons armament, commercial and military transportation systems, mobile and ground-based defense systems and other systems and applications of this nature. Interfaces with customers, suppliers, application users, and other technical and support personnel.
