General Motors electric car champion Bob Lutz has upped his personal commitment to battery-powered transportation with the purchase of an electric scooter.

The HMMWV is built and delivered to the armed services by AM General with Headquarters located in South Bend, Indiana. Armorit designed, analyzed, tooled and qualified the product to improve the capability and reliability of the system for securing the battery package in the production HMMWV. The company will be donating a portion of the profits derived from this contract to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation to provide educational benefits to the children of soldiers who have lost their parent in defense of our nation.
Armorit’s subsidiary, Armorit Precision, received third party approval to ISO 9001:2000 by Quality Management Associates (QMI). Armorit Precision (AP) specializes in precision machining of a variety of metal parts with processes to support aerospace quality standards. AP has the capability to machine direct from CAD for quick turn small run machined prototypes for engineering evaluations and small to medium size production lots. Armorit has invested in new turn mill and horizontal machining centers that are networked to a centralized programming function. This process maximizes response times and minimizes machine down time.
Vectrix Corporation (www.vectrixusa.com), maker of the world’s first high performance, two- and three-wheel zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs), and Armorit, LLC (www.armorit.com), a product development and delivery provider to military markets, have reached a three-year agreement for Armorit to serve as the exclusive distributor of Vectrix ZEVs to the U.S. military.
